Yeah, going straight home after a concert is always impossible for me too. I'd have to go back to Limburg, so it's really not an option. XD

Ah, that's good to know, thanks! :)

So if the gigs finish around 2330 anybody know how late the trams and trains go back to Central Station Amsterdam as that's where I have to get back to?

From Amsterdam Bijlmer-Arena (the station across the HMH) there are direct trains to Amsterdam Centraal at 23:40, 23:56, 00:10, 00:26, 00:40, 00:56 and 01:14

The .26/.56 trains will depart from platform 3, the .10/.40 trains from platform 1. :)

If you need to travel beyond that - there are nightbusses going from A'dam Centraal, if you don't feel like walking around the city at night <3

Meh I wish they had bands like Sonata Arctica or Kamelot with them on European tours too.. The European openers are so much heavier nowadays..(ok, don't count Indica then :P )

Pain wasn't all too heavy either, and I adored Eklipse...

I am forever jealous of America though :P Delain. Eklipse. Kamelot...

Yeah personally I like Pain, but in terms of vocals and stuff they are heavier than Nightwish. While I think bands like Sonata Arctica, Kamelot and Delain aren't heavier than Nightwish

Anyway can't wait to see which songs they'll play live!

I'm secretly (okay, not so secretly) hoping for Sagan and The Poet. Especially The Poet. PLEASE DO THE POET. And Edema Ruh!

I hope they won't play Our Decades In The Sun, but I guess there's a strong chance it will be there :P (sorry not a big fan of that song  )

I'd love to hear it live, but definitely not at the cost of other great songs. :P

I could care less whether they play the Poet or not, as long as they don't leave GLS out. I think Sagan would really be fun to hear live, though! And ODITS... It's pretty, but if I get to pick ballads, I'd rather hear WYLASR or something

Have you guys seen this?

De aanvangstijd voor het concert van Nightwish is gewijzigd. We willen jullie alvast informeren over het tijdschema van de avond:

18.30u Deuren open
19.20u Amorphis
19.55u Pauze / change over
20.10u Arch Enemy
21.00u Pauze / change over
21.30u Nightwish
23.30u Verwacht einde concert

I'll be dead before Nightwish even starts. O__O

Dear Lord, please have mercy on our feet...

No, but thanks for posting it.....

Won't cause any problems, 'cause I've take the entire afternoon off... Only the end of the concert does not give the possibility for an after-party (stupid trains in Holland!)

@Hunnebedbouwer : nice shoes.. now I'm able to recognize you at last.... ;)

@The Withdrummer & SilentDawn

What you guys have with TPATP and GLS, I have with SOM.  As long as they play that,  I will feel fine about the others, although both of your choices would be excellent as well, but all of them would be a little bit too much asked for. Got a strong connection to that song and it's in my top-10 of all time favourites. The same with 'THOE' by Within Temptation. I felt such satisfaction when I heard that live for the first time.

@Esgigt

Stop moaning and get on your E-bike. Rotjeknor is not that far away!  :P

@Hunebedbouwer : I'm afraid you're confusing a Nightwish concert with a Jovink and the Voederbietels gig....

I do admit, fellow gig-go-ers were giving me funny looks when we attended The Amazing Stroopwafels in those!

Maybe I should really wear something made from animal skin then.......

Rotjeknor heeeuj! (Living in Vlaardingen so heeuj.). Alas. I have booked a hotel in A'dam so whoohooh. waterstones for me.

Song Of Myself would be brilliant too <3 But then again, I place many songs before TPATP really. I'd kill to hear BOTB and Fantasmic and TPOTO and stuff all before TPATP...

Amazing footwear by the way, hunebedbouwer :P

We (as in together) might make a setlist (wish list) of our own and see how much % we got right?

Great idea! Here's my shot:

01. Shudder Before the Beautiful
02. Yours Is an Empty Hope
03. Ever Dream

04. Eva
05. Wishmaster
06. Sagan
07. The Islander
08. Élan
09. Weak Fantasy
10. 7 Days to the Wolves
11. The Carpenter (Not gonna happen, but I can't not add it. Oh, and I want Troy to do the verses! Or Tuomas himself of course.)
12. The Poet & The Pendulum
13. Edema Ruh
14. Stargazers
15. Sleeping Sun
16. The Greatest Show on Earth
17. Ghost Love Score
18. Alpenglow

Never mind the following order. I just copy/pasted the current setlist and replaced/added some things. I don't have enough brain power right now to balance everything out. XD And there's so much more I really want them to play (and I probably forgot a whole lot I actually could have added), but I had to keep it real, apart from The Carpenter. XD

Also, crap:

I want the weather we have now. Seems like I have to make another stop at Hema to get some more ponchos...

01. Shudder Before the Beautiful
02. Yours Is an Empty Hope
03. Ever Dream
04. While Your Lips Are Still Red
05. Wishmaster
06. Sagan
07. The Islander
08. Élan
09. Weak Fantasy
10. Dark Chest Of Wonders
11. The Phantom Of The Opera (Forever Hoping)
12. Romanticide
13. Edema Ruh
14. Stargazers
15. Sleeping Sun
16. The Greatest Show on Earth (including Part I please.)
17. Ghost Love Score
18. Alpenglow

Okay so I copy pasted. This is not exactly what I all want to see but I'd be happy with this :3

You are both disqualified!! No Song Of Myself? What kind of NW fans are you? :dwarf:

* I want plenty of snow falling before the concert, so I can wear my special concert boots (see post 40)

First part:

Shudder before the beautiful

She's my sin - that nice riff in the beginning :sunny:

Sagan

Nemo

Edema Ruh

Sleeping Sun

The poet and the pendulum - I fully support my Southern country girl in this :music:

The islander

Slow love slow - this and the one above to cool down a bit

The last of the wilds - because I absolutely love the celtic vibe

* Power cut during pause inside, while thunder and lightning outside, just to make it me(n)tal :)

Greatest show on earth

Stargazers

Ghost river

Amaranth - yes, sorry, but as a reasonable newbie I still find it enjoyable catchy

Elvenpath

Song of myself - no questions asked; they may play it three times during one gig ;)

Kuolema tekee taiteilijan - love it, but no chance for several reasons

Ghost love score - well, okay. Just because Heeeuj is such a fan. It's an okay song. :P

Fantasmic

* When I will enter the sobering outside world again, I want to see a full moon, happy faces and a lot of fantasmic singing!

My percentage will not be high, but I'm a novice, so I can dream, can't I?
